Welcome to Videahopes!

I am Vebronia Solo. My friends call me Vie. I enjoy writing, the foremost reason why I create this blog. I love Indonesian literatures since high school. I write a poetry sometimes and still keep a diary. I also never get bored of buying novels and watching movies. I once dreamed of being an editor, but ended up as a chemistry student. It was beyond my wildest dreams. Studying chemistry has sharpened my ability to imagine abstract elements and creativity to communicate science to general audiences. I like lab works as well as analytical and inorganic chemistry.

After gaining a Bachelor of Science, I spent a year teaching chemistry in an international school in my hometown. Then, I got my foot in the door of an environmental laboratory. For years, I have had a privilege to conduct environmental monitoring, work with data analysis, and communicate it to decision makers. The latter is always challenging. This, then, motivated me to pursue a higher education in the University of Melbourne with the Australia Awards Scholarship and graduated as a Master of Environment. I am interested in environmental decision-making processes, particularly how we can bridge science to have an adaptive management and policy that fits local conditions. I also concern about environmental impact assessments (EIA) and risk assessments, any implementation of pollution control and the management of environmental degradation, dynamics and biases in environmental decision-making.

This blog will be a medium for promoting science communication as well as sharing ideas, perspectives, opinions, reviews, information, and experiences.  I hope this blog can encourage a personal or collective reflection about something or light a fire under someone to do something or simply bring a smile to your lip.

I hope you enjoy this blog.
